PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a case for an electric device, an electric device and a discharge lamp lighting device which are excellent in assembling workability and can be inexpensively formed. SOLUTION: The case is provided with a sheet-like insulator 6 which is deformed along the shapes of a case main body 4 and a case cover 5 to surround an electric device main body 3 so as to be positioned in an aperture 4c of the main body 4 by overlapping both ends of the insulator 6. Further, the case is provided with an engaging piece 7 for engaging one end 6b positioned outside the insulator 6 without engaging the other end 6a positioned inside of the insulator 6 when a case cover 5 is fitted to the aperture 4c of the main body 4.
