PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic roller capable of lessening compressive permanent deformation at low hardness and also suitably applying to a roller for developing. SOLUTION: An elastic layer 1a of the elastic roller forming a conductive elastic layer 1a at an outer periphery of an axial core body 1b is comprised of silicone rubber having Asker hardness at 20 to 50 and also having bridged density of 2.7×10<-5> mol/cc to 1.8×10<-4> mol/cc. Thus, the elastic layer 1a can be kept in lower hardness and in least compressive permanent deformation. For example, the elastic roller can be suitably used as the roller 1 for developing, which is always necessary to keep in contact with a photosensitive drum in a designated contact state. |
