PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide longitudinal bag making, filling and packaging methods by which a square bottom face is formed with no gusset placed and a bag of a square bottom with a flat top seal applied to an opening of the bag can be made for filling and packaging. SOLUTION: The flat top seal c4 and a bottom central seal c2 are applied by closing a double lateral heat sealer, a lower side bag P is divided by cutting across the bag using a cutter for dividing the bag, and both corners of a lower end of the next bag are cut off. A vacuum box is closed at the same time that the lateral heat sealer is closed, a tubular film F2 is suctioned and retained and left apart by a wall thickness (b) of the square bottom bag at the same time that the lateral heat sealer and the like are opened. At this point a required amount of air is fed into the tubular film, and the tubular film F2 is expanded in three dimensions to form the tubular film F2 into a bag of the square bottom with bag width (a) and thickness (b). Then flat lugs (e, e) composed of extra portions of the tubular film F2 are horizontally extended to a lower part of both side faces, and bottom side seals c3, c3 are applied by a heat sealer for the bottom side seal to cut off and collect flat lugs (e, e) from an outer edge of the bottom side seals c3 by a lug cutter.
