PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for remotely rescuing passengers confined in elevator, enabling prompt escape from an elevator car without need for passengers to rescue themselves in confining trouble. SOLUTION: The device comprises elevator condition display means 5 for displaying information for the operated condition of the elevator read out terminal means in response to confined trouble information, confining cause determining means 6 for determining the cause of the confined trouble in accordance with the information for the operated condition, and rescue procedure operating means 7 for operating rescue control means 3 via communication mean T in accordance with predetermined procedures. The rescue control means 3 is remotely operated via the rescue procedure operating means 7 by a surveillance personnel in a monitoring center 2 for the rescue of the passengers in the confined trouble. Thus, the passengers are safely rescued.
