PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which has excellent display quality and in which durability of an alignment layer is secured and the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer when no voltage is applied to the molecules can be maintained. SOLUTION: The alignment layers 40 and 60 consisting of an inorganic obliquely deposited film formed by a single step oblique deposition method are provided on the outermost surfaces on the liquid crystal layer 50 side of a TFT allay substrate 10 and a counter substrate 20. A polymer dispersion body 51 formed in a prescribed shape according to the initial alignment state of the liquid crystal molecules 50a and having a function for maintaining the alignment state of the liquid crystal molecules 50a when no voltage is applied to the molecules is prepared in the liquid crystal layer 50. |
