<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe image forming element which can be easily manufactured, can form images in a simple manner at a low cost and is free of a possibility of giving rise to environmental problems in disposal and an image forming device which is capable of forming color images. SOLUTION: This image forming element has at least films which are oriented with bar-like bodies and exhibit structure color development. The form that the thickness of the films is <=810 nm, the form that the bar-like bodies are bar-like organic molecules, the form that the films are either of the monomolecular films and the laminated films of the monomolecular films of the bar-like organic molecule, the form that the bar-like bodies areα-helix polypeptide, the form that the structural variable bodies made variable in the structure by stimuli are bonded to the ends and/or peripheral surface side of the bar-like bodies, etc., are preferable. This image forming device has at least the image forming element described above and photoirradiation means for irradiating the image forming element with light in which the image forming element reflects the light by the photoirradiation means as interference light and the wavelength of the interference light is 300 to 810 nm.</p> |
