STRUCTURE OF VACUUM DEGASSING VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a vacuum degassing vessel which does not hinder decarburizing reaction and can prolong the service life of a vacuum degassing vessel and is economical. SOLUTION: In the structure of the vacuum degassing vessel among the lining refractories of a lower vessel constituting the vacuum degassing vessel, at least a part to be in contact with molten steel is built of magnesia-carbon brick of <5 mass% C content and the remaining part is built of magnesia- carbon brick of 5-9 mass% C content.
