PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus that is suited for allowing a measurement executer to instantly grasping a measurement result at a measurement point regarding a universal displacement sensor for measuring height, displacement, shape, and the like. SOLUTION: The displacement sensor is provided with a head section for generating an image signal by applying a line beam to the surface of an object to be measured at a specific angle and at the same time shooting a region including the illumination position from another angle by a two-dimensional image pickup element, a height data row acquisition means for acquiring a height data row corresponding to the height of a series of points on the illumination light image in a line beam by processing an image signal that is generated by the head section, a color data row acquisition means for acquiring color data row from height data row by converting the height data to color data according to a specific conversion rule, and an imaging means for generating image data corresponding to an image including a height distribution image by adjacently arranging a pixel row straight line corresponding to the color data row in time series, or an image signal.
