PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse catcher which enables long-term prevention of clogging and great extension of cycle time for elimination of refuse by dramatically increasing a refuse catching area. SOLUTION: In the refuse catcher installed on a water channel W, lateral members 2 and 2 facing side surfaces (a) of the water channel W are raised up on both sides, in a width direction, of a bottom member 1 spread over the approximate overall width of the water channel W. A rear member 3 is provided continuously over downstream-side ends of the bottom member 1 and the lateral members 2 and 2 on both of the sides in the width direction in such a manner as to cross the water channel W. A spacer 5 forming a water passage Wa is provided between the bottom member 1 and a bottom surface (b) of the water channel W, and a front member 4 is provided continuously at an end on an upstream side of the bottom member 1 in such a manner as to cross the water passage Wa. The respective members 1-4 are composed of members which permit passing of water and catch the refuse.
