The furnace has one or more furnace troughs, and an adjustable furnace roof, which is suspended across an intermediate frame-structure on the extension arm of the roof-lifting support. Charge pipes rise into the charge apertures at the intermediate frame. A conical inlet and closure-members are provided in the charge pipes. Cooling means are provided for the charge- and gas-extraction pipes, and for the electric arc electrodes. |
