<p>A data transmitting method and a data receiving method which can multiplex audio data and video data and can transmit them with a simple construction by using a cable of DVI standards. Video/audio superposition data in which audio data is superposed for the video blanking period of the video data at a superposition timing created by using a video blanking synchronizing signal and a pixel clock are transmitted together with the video blanking synchronizing signal and the pixel clock from the data transmitting side to the data receiving side through a DVI cable. At the data receiving side, a timing signal for extracting the audio data from the video/audio data superposition signal by using the video blanking synchronizing signal and the pixel clock transmitted. By using this timing signal, the video/audio data superposition signal is separated into the video data and the audio data, and the digital audio data is converted into an analog audio signal by using the audio clock created by dividing the frequency of the pixel clock.</p> |
