The coolant pump comprises an impeller (7) which is arranged unidirectionally rotatable and is axially, precisely positioned on the pump shaft (3). The impeller has flow openings (5) and is formed as the coupling half of tooth coupling (8) on the pump housing side. A sleeve (13) which cannot be axially displaced, is arranged on the pump shaft, adjacent to the pump bearing (14). The coolant pump further comprises an armature rotor (9) which has radial bores, and is located on an outer race. An electromagnet (15) is arranged in the area of the pump housing (1) which is adjacent to the armature rotor. Friction surfaces (17) are arranged on the outer race of the armature rotor end, as well as on the areas of the electromagnet and/or pump housing, which lie opposite them.
