PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching press capable of rapidly selecting a tool to be used and getting an improved net working rate. SOLUTION: The punching press is equipped with tool holders 2, 3, automatic tool replacing mechanisms 4, 5 and a ram 20. The tool holders 2, 3 are rotatable and have n (n is two or more in positive number) pieces of tool supports 6 supporting tools 10, 11. The automatic tool replacing mechanism 4, 5 hold more tools 10, 11 than n, and any tool 10, 11 held by the mechanism can be replaced with those held by the tool supports 6 of the tool holder 2, 3. The ram 20 generates the punching motion of the tool 10 held by the tool holder 2 at a predetermined position P.
