摘要 The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine (1) using a fuel apportioning system (11), whereby fuel is transported from a fuel reservoir (12) to a low pressure region (ND) of the fuel apportioning system (11) by means of a pre-supply pump (13), and from the low pressure region (ND) to a high pressure region (HD) of the fuel apportioning system (11) by means of a high pressure pump (14). Fuel situated in the high pressure region (HD) at an injection pressure (p r) is injected at least indirectly into a combustion chamber (4) of the internal combustion engine (1), by means of at least one injection valve (9). The injection pressure (p r) is regulated. At least one pilot control underlies the regulation of the injection pressure (p r) in order to improve the dynamics of the regulation of the injection pressure (p r), a pilot control variable (y) being determined using at least one characteristic diagram (K1, K2) in accordance with an operating point of the internal combustion engine (1).
