PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of electrochemical antifouling on a structure in contact with seawater such as a seawater inlet channel of a power station or a fishpond for cultivation, which method can be conducted at an arbitrary place even when an existent power source such as a commercial power source is hardly available as a power source of DC current. SOLUTION: A combination of a solar cell and a secondary battery is used as a DC power source. If the material of the structure is conductive, the surface of the structure in contact with seawater is covered with a lining of a conductive sheet and an electrode is disposed with the conductive sheet electrically insulated therefrom, the electrode being a cathode and the conductive sheet an anode. The DC current is made to flow via the structure as a feeder and is so controlled as to make the current density 0.02 to 0.30 A/m<2> at the anode, whereby a marine organism is prevented from adhering to the structure by giving an electric shock to the organism which comes in touch with the conductive sheet. If the material of the structure is non-conductive, another conductive base material covered with a conductive lining is used as a feeder.
