PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply reduce carbon monoxide and/or nitrogen oxides which are harmful ingredients contained in cigarette main flow smoke injurious against human bodies. SOLUTION: A gelatin hydrolysate adjusted to an average mol.wt. of <=10,000 is added to the filter portion of cigarette to significantly reduce the carbon monoxide and/or nitrogen oxides contained in the main flow smoke of the cigarette.
