PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel in which the annular part of the of the reel main body readily exposed to external force are covered with heat- shrinkable tube for protection from outside. SOLUTION: A cover 2 is attached to one side of a reel body 1 in the reel body A and the handle shaft having a handle arm 4 fixed thereto is right-left exchangeably fitted to the polygonal hole at the center of the rotary gear in the reel body 1. An annular part 4b of the handle arm 4 having the partially bent parts is covered with a heat-shrinkable tube 18. The heat-shrinkable tube 18 is selected from (1) polyethylene, (2) propylene rubber, (3) silicone, (4) fluorine resin, and the like.
