摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low voltage power source for a DC motor for driving rotary brush. SOLUTION: Field winding 12a and 12b of an AC motor 11 for generating suction force of vacuum cleaner are connected through a switch 13 to commercial power supply terminals 14a and 14b of a main body of vacuum cleaner. The switch 13 is composed of two interlocked slide contact electrodes 13a and 13b and eight fixed electrodes 13c-13f and 13cc-13ff and when the slide contact electrodes 13a and 13b are located at positions shown in figure, the vacuum cleaner is in the OFF state. A tap 15 is drawn from the middle of the field coil 12a of the AC motor 11, the tap 15 is connected to one AC input terminal of a diode bridge 16, and the other AC input terminal of the diode bridge 16 is connected to an electric circuit connecting the field winding 12a and the fixed electrodes 13d and 13f of the switch 13. A DC motor 17 for driving rotary brush is connected to the DC output terminal of the diode bridge 16.
