A positive electrode material for realizing a high discharging voltage and achieving excellent charging/discharging characteristics without lowering the capacity of a cell comprising the negative electrode and a cell comprising it are disclosed. A positive electrode (12) and a negative electrode (14) are oppositely disposed on both sides of a separator (15). The positive electrode (12) contains a compound expressed by a general formula Li1+xMnyFezPO4 (where 0lt;xlt;0.1, 0.5lt;ylt;0.95, 0. 9lt;y+zle;1). Thanks to the compound, the discharge voltage is high because of the Mn. The Jahn-Teller effect attributed to the Mn3+ produced when the cell is charged is weakened by Fe and excess Li. Strain of the crystal structure is suppressed, and lowering of the capacity is also suppressed. |
