Hollow dies complementing extrusion machinery systems for prodn. of pasta shells have helical transfer passages (2) with an aperture for the introduction of homogenised doughs and an outlet part constructed in a manner to ensure that the correct cross-section of a chosen shape is maintained. It is characteristic of the described tool (1), that the cross-section of the hollow passage (2) in the cross-section of the block (1) is at right-angle to the travel of the pasta dough, so as to produce a helical pasta-band of chosen thickness. The axis of the cross-section of the passage (2) gyrates outwards, away from the axis of the block's cross-section.
