PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment which can generate reproduced sound corresponding to each operation mode, when identical melody data are used for various operation modes. SOLUTION: This facsimile equipment is provided with a function, which converts the melody data stored in an NVRAM 15 into audible signals and generates the reproduced sound, on the basis of the audible signals. A CPU 10 changes processing contents for converting the melody data into audible signal according with incoming call operation, the holding operation and alarm operation which are executed on the main equipment, and generates reproduced sound which are different for each operation.
