PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method capable of enhancing operability of unmagnified display and enlarged display in electronic zooming. SOLUTION: A reproduction electronic zoom display device 10 supplies operational information 12A specified by an operating part 12 to an operation information memory 14a, superposes frame data on image data before processing by a zoom processing part 18d, indicates a changing range of magnification on an image of a monitor 24, writes image data 180 formed by superposing character data 18C to indicate magnification on image data 18D of the zoom processing part 18d from a character generating part 18c in an image memory 14b for processed image by performing control according to the mode selected by a system control part 16 and the operational information 12A from the memory 14a to a signal processing part 18 when a frame feed mode is selected as one of three modes by a system control part 16, reads the applicable image data from the memory 14b and supplies it to the monitor 24 in the case of redisplay in this mode.
