摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel sintered substrate with high porosity by lowering the gelling temperature of slurry and gelling the slurry in a low temperature region at an early stage drying a slurry coating film to suppress the volume shrinkage of the slurry coating film in drying. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the sintered substrate for an alkaline storage battery contains a salt adding process adding a salt to slurry to lower gelling temperature of a thickener; a slurry coating process applying the salt added slurry to a conductive core material to form a coating film in the conductive core material; a drying process gelling the coating film formed in the conductive core material and drying to form a dried substrate; and a sintering process sintering the dried substrate. Since the gelling temperature of the thickener is lowered by adding the salt to the slurry, the slurry is easily gelled in the low temperature region at the early stage of drying, and volume shrinkage of the coating film by drying is suppressed.
