PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input various characters, digits, symbols, or character strings by using 12 keys constituted of 0-9, # and/or *, and to make it unnecessary to remember any character input method. SOLUTION: At least digits 0-9, # and/or * are arranged on one coordinate axis, and at least digits 0-9, # and/or * are arranged on the other coordinate axis, and characters, digits, and symbols or the like are assigned to an area being the intersection point of each coordinate axis. Then, when the characters are inputted, a hard key for the first hit is depressed so that an input screen for the second hit assigned to the hard key can be displayed, and a hard key at which a desired character is displayed is depressed as the second hit while the input picture for the second hit is viewed so that characters or character strings are inputted.
