Device for raising sewage water comprises a tank (14) into which compressed air is pumped to raise or lift the water, tank inlet (8) and outlet (10) pipes, non-return valves (16, 18) to prevent water flow from the outlet towards the inlet, level sensors (22, 26) for determining the water level in the tank and means for commanding the injection of compressed air into the tank as a function of water level. The level sensor is a conducting sensor fixed to the wall of the tank with one end extending into the tank interior.
