PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of changing the resolution at a high image quality and a high speed in a simple circuit arrangement. SOLUTION: The method of processing inputted multi-value image data comprises a quantizing process (S2) for approximating the inputted multi-value image data to any of m specified representatives to convert the inputted multi- value image data to m-gradation image data over two gradations, (S3) interpolating one of pixels under interest in the m-gradation image data in (N×N) m- gradation pixels and (S4) a value-reducing process for converting the m- gradation image data to n-gradation image data according to features of each image data after interpolation of the pixels under interest and their peripheral pixels. Each representative is determined so that sum of one of m representatives and any other representative has a unique value. |
