The invention relates to a scanner that uses piezoelectric translators in order to send and receive ultrasound signals through the air and a movement system in order to soundproof, point by point, the surface area of the material on which the Braille text has been engraved and simultaneously to capture the amplitude of the reflected signal and the co-ordinates of said point. The presence of reliefs, hollows or areas that are simply flat produces variations in the amplitude of the reflected signal which, suitably captured according to the ultrasound beam, moves across the surface area of the material on which the Braille text has been engraved, thereby enabling the information contained in same to be digitised.
|
