摘要 A method for determining whether a target detected by a radar is a stationary object on a road or not, comprising a step for determining variation in the receiving level of a reflection wave from the target with respect to the distance from the target, a step for determining the difference of receiving level between maximal point and minimal point from the variation of receiving level, and a step for determining that the target is a stationary object on a road if the difference is longer than a predetermined threshold value. Alternatively, inclination with respect to the distance between maximal point and minimal point is determined and a decision is made that the target is a stationary object on a road if the inclination is larger that a predetermined threshold value. Alternatively, distance between maximal point and minimal point is determined and a decision is made that the target is a stationary object on a road if the distance is shorter than a predetermined threshold value.
