摘要 The method involves using data from a previous crash test or simulation where the acceleration profile at a vehicle side element and obstruction penetration depth were determined, providing a suitable obstruction and acceleration device, providing a section of a vehicle side with a suitable cut-out section and suitably accelerating the obstruction into the cut-out section, whereby the side section is displaced on reaching the penetration depth. The method involves using the data from a previous crash test or computer simulation in which a vehicle collided with a suitable narrow obstruction and the acceleration profile at an element of the vehicle side and the penetration depth of the obstruction were determined, providing a suitable obstruction (12) and obstruction acceleration device, providing a section of a vehicle side (14) with a suitable cut-out section, holding the side section and a seat (16) so the side section, seat and obstruction can be moved linearly with respect to each other and suitably accelerating the obstruction into the cut-out section, whereby the side section is displaced on reaching the penetration depth. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for simulation of the penetration of a vehicle by a narrow obstruction.
