<p>The present invention relates to it relates to a handling of electronic tickets in an electronic ticketing system. The object of the present invention is to achieve a ticketing method and system with improved security.The object is achieved by a method wherein a public key of a user is combined with a ticket, constituting a ticket data package. The ticket data package is signed by a ticket-issuing unit and delivered to a user. The user sends this signed ticket data package to a ticket receiving-unit, which uses the public key for encrypting a challenge data and send this to the user. The user, which has an associated private key, decrypts the challenge data and sends it back to the ticket-receiving unit , which accepts the ticket if the decrypted challenge data is the same as the challenge data before encrypting it and if the ticket is valid.</p> |
