The piezoelectric drive has a stator (2a), provided with a cylindrical piezoelement (2) having at least 2 electrodes and at least one contact surface (2b) and a rotor (4), with a mechanical coupling (1) between the piezoelement and the rotor. The mechanical coupling has projections (3) cooperating with the contact surface of the piezoelement, the piezoelement exhibiting a first resonance frequency and the projections a second resonance frequency, causing periodic release of the projections from the contact surface, for rotation of the rotor.
