The step is made by from a single piece of sheet material and includes a step surface (4) and fasteners (6, 12) for securing and supporting this step surface against a roof or an adjacent surface. At least one reinforcing section (2, 13) is provided for the step surface. An Independent claim is also included for a method of making the step.
