摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for decomposing harmful substance using a photocatalyst which efficiently decompose harmful substances and is low in cost. SOLUTION: This device for decomposing harmful substances using the photocatalyst which allows a fluid containing harmful substances to flow in from an inlet 6 and flow out of an outlet 7, is provided with a rotator 1 which has a photocatalyst immobilized on the surface thereof and is disposed in a flow passage of the fluid in a rotatable state an a visible light source 2 which irradiates the photocatalyst with visible light rays, and the fluid in the device is stirred by the rotation of the rotator 1 while irradiating the photocatalyst with the visible light rays, the contact chance of harmful substances and photocatalyst is enhanced and, thereby, the harmful substances included in the fluid are decomposed at a high decomposition rate. A daylight fluorescent lamp is used as a visible light source 2, a cylinder made of conventional colorless and transparent glass can be used as a transparent member 3 and, therefore, a device cost can be reduced compared with the case of using ultraviolet rays.
