PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide application technologies for forming collagen or elastin and for treating diseases in which the formation of collagen or elastin is involved. SOLUTION: A nucleic acid which has a specific base sequence derived from a human being or mouse or a derivative thereof and encodes a lysyl oxidase- related protein, an expression vector containing the nucleic acid, a transformant having the nucleic acid, a lysyl oxidase-related protein, and an antibody against the protein, are provided. The nucleic acid, the expression vector, the protein and the antibody are used as agents for promoting the reconstruction of bone/ cartilage, collagenous extracellular matrix production-regulating agents and as agents for treating diseases related with the formation of collagen or elastin. In addition, an oligonucleotide or antibody corresponding to the nucleic acid is used as an agent for testing the reconstruction state of bone/cartilage. |
