PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently laminate fibers on the upright surface parts of a molding surface used in the production of a filter. SOLUTION: In the filter manufacturing method wherein fibers F are spun in a semi-molten state to be applied to the molding surface 31 to manufacture the filter having a shape almost equal to that of the molding surface 31, the fibers F are gathered to the upright surface parts 31e of the molding surface 31 when the fibers F are spun in the semi-molten state to be applied to the molding surface 31. Therefore, the fibers F can be sufficiently laminated on the upright surface parts 31e and the lamination quantity of the fibers on the upright surface parts 31e of the molding surface 31 is not lowered to a large extent as compared with that on the other regions 31f of the molding surface 31.
