PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supplying device and a power supplying method which fulfill a peak shifting function without lowering the intrinsic function of an apparatus. SOLUTION: A switch 7 for selectively supplying power from a battery 3 or power from a commercial power source 11 to a load circuit 9, and a controller 4 which gives instructions to the switch 7 to stop supply of power from the commercial source 11 to the load circuit 9 for a specified time zone, are provided.
