PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a payment processing system capable of dispensing with the works for printing a payment handling slip and sending it to a paying person by mail to reduce the cost, urging a delinquent to pay easily, dispensing with the payment handling slip to reduce a problem concerning the environment, and allowing the paying person to pay at a convenience store simply. SOLUTION: Electronic data 3 including payment destination information, paying person information, and amount to be paid information are transmitted to a cellular phone 2 by electronic mail from an institution (electric power company) 1 which becomes the payment destination of the charge. The portable terminal unit 2 receives the electronic data 3 and displays it with bar codes in its display part 21. The convenience store which performs payment processing reads the bar codes displayed in the cellular phone 2 from a bar code reader at a POS terminal unit 5 for register instead of reading bar codes on the payment handling slip and inputs the bar codes and receives payment from a customer based on the information to perform payment processing. An OCR can be used instead of the bar codes. |
