PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station antenna unit for an ITS which is very easy to regulate the position, without requiring rotation of the front surface of a base station antenna to a road side, when the antenna is installed. SOLUTION: The base station antenna unit for the ITS comprises the base station antenna provided along a road side zone, and a cell of a communication area provided on the road. An antenna body 11 for constituting the base station antenna is mounted at a hanging implement 12, so as to enable a regulation of a tilting angleθtoward a downward direction. The body 11 also has an antenna base 14 made to rotate, for example, clockwise at a prescribed angle and mounted, and an antenna pattern 17 having the radiation characteristics of the pattern 17 tilted by the prescribed angle to the road side. Radio waves can be radiated to the cell set onto the road merely, by tilting the base station antenna downward and installing a direction of its front surface parallel to downward radiation, by rotating the antenna base 14 at the prescribed angle and tilting the radiation characteristics of the pattern 17 at the prescribed angle to the road side as described above.
