PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide adaptive antenna equipment which can compensate effectively a shrinking phenomenon of a cell. SOLUTION: The adaptive antenna equipment is provided with a plurality of antenna elements, and can obtain desired directivity characteristic by controlling amplitude component and phase component of signal transmitted and received via the antenna elements. The equipment consists of a base-band receiving part for calculating arrival direction estimation information which is the estimated result of the arrival direction of radio wave from a mobile station existing in a cell, a storage part for holding temporarily the arrival direction estimation information of each mobile station which is calculated by the base band receiving part, and a control part which calculates the density of mobile stations on the basis of the information held in the storage part, and produces a control signal for controlling the directivity and the transmission power of a transmission signal, so as to compensate the shrink phenomenon of a cell in a region where the density of mobile stations is high.
