PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmitting and receiving system capable of transmitting and receiving a video signal that can transmit and receive an audio signal. SOLUTION: An original blanking period T0 of a video signal is reduced to a set blanking period T1 and audio data are multiplexed on a superposition period T2 produced as the result. Table identification data denoting the length of the superposition period T2 are inserted to the period T1 as a blanking signal.
