The wire bow (6) is thin, break-proof and highly elastically twistable and joined non-releasably by laser weld, soldering or bonding at its free ends (7a,8a) with the convex exterior (2b,3b) of the totally closed eye cups (2,3). Each end (7a,8a) is fixed to a cylindrical projection (4,5) set into the geometrical center of the cup exterior (2b,3b) and wire bow has a U-shaped center part (9) plus legs (7,8) to the side and so contoured as to run clear of the cup exteriors. The center U and legs lie in a plane set normal to plane (22) as drawn between the projections in front of the users forehead. On their sides furthest from the projections (4,5) the cups have hooks (11,12) or eyelets to fix to the elastic holder (13), the hooks spaced (A) from the cup rims (2d,3d) towards the cup centers.
