The invention relates to a pressure drawing tool for drawing round and non-round billet-shaped metallic stock that is to be shaped with which excellent lubrication conditions, very long serviceable tool lives, and a high product quality can be achieved. The inventive pressure drawing tool is characterized in that the drawing core of the tool is comprised of only one piece and that the drawing hole of the drawing core, when viewed in the direction of drawing (Z), has a funnel-shaped entry zone (A), a pressure build-up zone (B), an entry area (C), a shaping zone (D), a guiding length (E), and an exit funnel (F), whereby the pressure build-up zone (B) forms a gap with the entering stock to be shaped whose gap width (s) remains constant or nearly constant. Entry area (C) is defined by the equations: tan alpha = s/l and l = n x d0, in which n = 0.003 to 0.5; alpha = half of the drawing hole angle of aperture; l = the length of entry area (C), and; d0 = the thickness of the entering stock (U) to be shaped. The pressure drawing tool can be used, for example, for drawing wires, rods and profiles. |
