This invention relates to obstacle detection glasses for the blind with a frame (1) consisting of infrared transmitters (6, 7), an infrared receiver (4), reflectors (2, 3), a megaphone (5) and a box (8) inside which is a printed circuit (9) containing the infrared transceiver and a vibrator (10) with a battery (14) and switches (11), (12) and (13).The infrared transmitter emits infrared rays at a distance. When these encounter an obstacle the ray is reflected back and detected by the infrared receiver which then activates the megaphone or vibrator to warn that an obstacle exists. The advantage of this invention is that using these glasses the blind wearer knows that there is an obstacle in front of him/her up to face level and in the direction in which he/she is facing and thus the obstacle can be avoided. |
