摘要 |

A polymer electrolyte type fuel cell, wherein a catalyst layer of at least one electrode thereof comprises an electroconductive carbon carrying a platinum group metal catalyst, an electroconductive carbon carrying no catalytic metal, and a hydrogen ion conducting polymer electrolyte. The amount of the electroconductive carbon carrying no catalytic metal is preferably 5 to 50 wt % of that of the electroconductive carbon carrying the catalytic metal. Incorporation of the electroconductive carbon carrying no catalytic metal in the catalyst layer permits the reduction of electric potential concentration into some of electron conducting paths, which leads to the manufacture of the electrode for a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell which is excellent in life characteristics.
|
