PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which makes it efficient to obtain multiple elements from a mother board and has its productivity improved. SOLUTION: In an array substrate 21, a recessed part 27 is formed which contains a seal bead of a seal material 26. When the array substrate 21 is coated with the seal material 26 so that a display area is surrounded, the seal material 26 which is injected from an unstable seal injection state in the beginning of the coating to a stable injection state is stored in the recessed part 27. When the array substrate 21 is adhered to an opposite substrate 22, the seal material 26 in the recessed part 27 is not crushed to make the seal width extremely large and it becomes efficient to obtain multiple elements from the mother board. |
