HECK REACTION IN IONIC LIQUID USING PD/C CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction system in which the recycling of a catalyst is easy in Heck reaction in an ionic liquid having a light environmental loading. SOLUTION: A compound of general formula III is manufactured by reacting a compound of the general formula I: ArX (wherein, Ar is a (substituted) aromatic compound; and X is a trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy group or a halogen atom) with an olefin of general formula II (wherein, R' is an alkyl, an aryl, an acyl, an alkoxy, an aryloxy, a cyano, an alkoxycarbonyl, an aryloxycarbonyl, an acyloxy, a carbonyl, a carbamoyl, a halogen, an imide, an alkylthio, an arylthio, a sulfo, a sulfino, a phosphino, a phosphinyl, a phosphono or a silyl) in the presence of a Pd/C catalyst in an ionic liquid.
