PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing the trouble of an electronic control engine for a vehicle by measuring a dwell time is provided to determine the engine trouble by determining the disorder of the dwell time. CONSTITUTION: A method for diagnosing the trouble of an electronic control engine for a vehicle by measuring a dwell time comprises the steps of; connecting positive and negative probes to the positive and negative probes, respectively(S10,S12,S14,S16); starting an engine(S20); measuring the dwell time(S30); analyzing whether the trend of the dwell time measure varies(S40); and determining that the input side of the electronic control device is out of order when the trend of the dwell time measured is irregular or dwell times of cylinders are not overlapped each other(S50).
