NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR DECIDING BEARING OF ITS OWN VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation system to accurately display the bearing of its own vehicle on a map when the vehicle utilizes or leaves a parking lot equipped with a turntable. SOLUTION: The navigation system has a present location detecting means which detects the present location of its own vehicle, an its-own-vehicle bearing detecting means 91 which detects the bearing of the vehicle, and a turntable presence/absence discriminating means 92 which discriminates the presence/ absence of a turntable. The system also has an its-own-vehicle bearing correcting means 93 which corrects the bearing of the vehicle when the turntable exists. Since the bearing of the vehicle is corrected by means of the correcting means 93 when the turntable exists, the bearing of the vehicle can be displayed accurately on the map when the vehicle leaves the parking lot regardless of the directions of the vehicle when the vehicle parks on and leaves the parking lot.
