PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair dye composition having excellent dyeability, resistance to washing and touch feeling after hair dyeing and sustaining the touch feeling. SOLUTION: This hair dye composition comprises >=2 and <=40 wt.% of one or more selected from ethanol, isopropanol, n-propanol and tert-butyl alcohol, >=2 and <=20 wt.% of benzyl alcohol and >=0.05 and <=3 wt.% of a silylated peptide and an acid dye.
