PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition which excels in foaming properties, detergency, and a feeling of use (non-sliminess in rinsing and a feeling of moisture retention). SOLUTION: The detergent composition comprises (A) 5-50 mass% N-long- chain acylamino acid salt, (B) 1-40 mass% amphoteric surface active agent, and (C) 0.1-30 mass% maltitol fatty acid ester as the essential components. The detergent composition further comprises (D) a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol.
